Don't miss out on these annual music festivals around South Africa by booking with flynationwide.

With plenty of untouched landscape, wonderful weather all year round and a love of local and international music, South Africa offers a variety of annual music festivals. So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable experience that you’ll want to return to next time round, read on.

Splashy Fen:

Taking over a farm in the Underberg in KwaZulu-Natal over the Easter Weekend, Splashy Fen is South Africa’s longest running outdoor music festival. Set in the beautiful landscape of the Southern Drakensberg, it offers a feast of both mainstream and alternative rock and pop with plenty of facilities for the whole family.

Up The Creek:

Situated on the banks of the Breede River, in the Western Cape, the Up The Creek camp site offers three stages – the main stage, the river stage and the all-night-long Breede River bar stage – over the four day festival in February. During SA’s hottest month festival goers can relax in the river by day and dance by night. Campers are also encouraged to take part in the float competition.

Rocking the Daisies:

The Rocking the Daisies Music and Lifestyle Festival in October, features top South African bands performing a wide variety of music, as well as comedy, burlesque dancing, acoustic jams, and giant African puppeteering. Every year, thousands of music lovers make their way to the Cloof Wine Estate in Darling for a weekend of the best of South African music and entertaiment.

Oppikoppi:

Held on the hot and dry bushveld farm of Oppikoppi (“op die koppie” in Afrikaans, or “on the hill”) in the North West Province, this festival offers three permanent thatched stages, a smaller comedy stage and a stage for more relaxed music. The festival that takes place every August, has helped establish many South African musicians’ careers over the years showcasing an extensive line-up of musical acts.

Find and book cheap tickets to Cape Town, Durban and other domestic destinations with Flynationwide.
